None - Between any of us (the final words)
Let's take a look at Eve's interiors decorator work.
Really stripped down, carefully furnished, every decision has been
painstakingly though about. All very deliberate, curated, very controlled.
This is also akin to her internal life.
Her psychology.
When told about the separation her only reacting is to scold daughter Joey
about breathing too heavy. Breath is important as it stands in for the
breath of life - the will to live.
The commitment to be alive, participate.
Daughter Joey loses her breath trying to save her mother and
The new woman breathes the breath of life into her.
It's interesting that she says it's the intimacy of death that embarrasses her.
The confrontation with the closeness of the person who has died. Everything
has been so carefully staged in their home. Now to have the vulnerability to
confront the vulnerability and that dimension of humanity that is so fragile and
intimate she finds that embarrassing.
Zooms in on the Obsessional Neurotic's problem.
It's interesting that she breaks the vase, because Eve has so painfully staged
everything in the household.
Her work has an OCD quality, not a carefree artistic way. An obsessive way
controlled, tedious, painstaking, labor intensive way.
